the problem is called spamming, you are invading every thread with this issue.
there are many topics to be discussed independently.

Are they open again Ross ? They were closed for quite some time because (apparantly) they were found to contain asbestos.
The toilets at the other end, opposite the Sea Sports Centre, near Richard Mahoney's Information Kiosk, are/were summer only and I believe, owned by Dover Harbour Board.
If they were to open again, they'd need cleaning up and redecorating - a bit like the Grand-Shaft before it was allowed to open - and then not allowed to open.
I agree there should be at least one set of toilets open, but with The Sea Sports Centre, Cullens Yard, De Bradelei's, Dover Marina Hotel, The Yacht Club, Premier Inn, they all have toilets, could not any of those offer their facilities ?

The Public have been turned away from using the ones you are talking about Roger,I do not know about Cullens Yard The one at the other end was closed last time I went up there,we are even geting bus,s pulling up outside the toilets which is the Coach stop for the seafront and the first place the Tourist go for is the Toilets then they come and asked us where they are,and we can only say sorry there are no public toilets, but to see a old lady in tears because there was not not one is the last thing I can take, both the D,H,B AND D.D.C. HAVEto open them again this week and we must keep on to them till this happens or face not keeping any Tourist .

You can not aske Cullens Yard or any of the others please we have Two Coach full of Tourists that is over 100 ,can we send them to you just to use the Toilets.

Roger - yes they are open and have been for over a week now
The toilets opposite the Sea Sports Centre were only open between April & September in the past - I believe they are DHB not DDC/DTC owned so that is who needs to be approached

Please keep your ''Bog'' postings to one thread please. You are ''polluting'' all the other threads and in danger of becoming a bore.

Why all this fuss over the poor tourists not being able to use the closed toilets, the population of Dover also have the need at times.
On a more serious note, children and the elderly quite often do not have the ability to hold on until they can find an open public convenience, we need more not less.
So much for plan for private business establishments providing an alternative to our public toilets, that idea does not seem to be working down on the sea front.

Visit Dover the 'Costa Continent'
The sign says "Come to Dover"
come see the cliffs and sea
come look the whole place over
come have some cake and tea
Come walk along the sea-front
come paper plate, come plastic cup
come sit a while to snack and sup
spend your pounds, let us be blunt
Come and see the cruise ships
come enjoy their to and fro
BUT of what wets your lips
there's nowhere for it to 'go'
cross your legs or knit your knees
jump you up and down
there's just nowhere to get your ease
Dover's a 'container' town.

there is no agreement in place for any private businesses to allow the public to use their toilets.
the matter of responsibility has not yet been agree upon by town and district councils.

A number of businesses have expressed an interest in joining the 'community toilets' scheme and negotiations are underway. For more information on that you would need to ask the chairman of the 'Public Convenience Working Group'.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.
