his star is not in the ascendancy anymore, this issue of being "posh" continues to be a big issue with the public.

His background has, and should not, have anything to do with his performance as Chancellor it just so happens that he's an idiot.

His background should help him be a good Chancellor and so far most of his decisions have been pretty good; I do think though that along with the necessary austerity measures, there should be ways to protect the less well-off and find ways for (more) growth.
Having said that, I only had 'O' level maths ('O' level all of them), so probably do not understand all the ins and outs of government finance), but being a Conservatiove with a social conscience, I think there should be support not punishment, for those less able and with less money, without opening the flood-gates to cheats, who will always find a way through.

Osborne and Cameron have had two years `trying` to obtain economic growth without any success and blaming `all
and sundry`
The economy is a global problem .
The economy can only be controlled Internationally, one day the euro-sceptics will see the light......not holding breath...

You cannot control the economy, no-one can. The fact that you even refer to controlling the economy illustrates the kind of thinking that got us into this problem.
What you can do are the right things that strengthen the businesses climate to ensure your domestic economy is robust, something Labour failed to do in their 13 years hence the scale of our domestic problems.
Insane and irresponsible government spending is the root cause of our problems and the fact that other governments went binge spending as well is no excuse.
You, Reg, would of course want people to forget how we got into this mess in the first place.
This is not a global problem either except in the sense that the world economy is being damaged by the governments that have caused this situation. Many countries were not as stupid as the UK and many in the Eurozone and did not go on a deficit spending binge and so are not as seriously hit by this as we are.

Keith - I have mentioned many times where I think Osborne has been wrong in taking the economy forward but the big fault lays with those who landed us in such dire straights in the first place.

Barry is right that our (Britain's) problem was caused by Labour's reckless spending over such a long time.
There are many serious cuts to be made I know, but just as I said earlier, that fairness should play a greater part as well as measures for growth.

# 9 .Same old global gobbledegook ......``This is not a global problem``.....what planet are you on?.
To think Britain can control it`s own economy whilst the countries close by us and around the world are in economic crisis is
naive,foolish wishfull thinking.
The economy is a global problem and can only be controlled Internationally.
With Cameron taking Britain on the outside of the EU waving our `veto` like a ``Chamberlain letter`` to receive the Tory
backbenchers hoots and feet stamping in the commons leaves us isolated.
`we must be active in the EU not on the outside.
