The trending accident in Dover is a kind of Jafaican-tinged East Kent twang.
Spoken exclusively by some of da yoof, it has incorporated a bit of MLE/Jafaican - more in the intonation than actual vowel sounds.
They machine gun out their words, with an aggressive guttral inflection, as if they were spitting out something they had gargled with - the words are expelled as fast as possible as if they had something toxic in their mouths that had to be jettisoned asap. And given the language us Dover Souls are bombarded with out there, they often have.
It is both a reflection of their Monster-fuelled overstimulation and about display.

But of course, Keith. The Dover version is a remix of the local twang with a dash of MLE, like many otgher places.

I do not think there is a Dover accent I was born here in the war years so if there had been I would have it.

Of course there is a Dover accent, or rather a spectrum of accents, as we have established. Just like everywhere else.
Just because you live in Dover it does not mean you have to have it

Agree Andrew and I suppose when people have the accent, they don't even know!

"No Keith, it applies to everywhere in England". i.e. everywhere has its own accent or spectrum of accents." Hope that helps.

Apparently, we are not supposed educational/professional qualifications to comment o this as it is "bragging" but there is a Dover accent (or spectrum of accents).

I suggest Dover also has a particular sentence construction and, to perhaps a limited extent, it and the villages have a particular vocabulary too.

In my opinion anyone who worries about an accent unless they study linguistics (like Professor Higgins) is a bit of a snob inverted or otherwise.
Just think how boring life would be if we stopped trying to work out from where someone originated.
