21:0469858I must admit I do not really enjoy Christmas like I used to. It is mainly for children of all ages and I have grown up, I have not quite reached BARHUMBUG but not far off.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

11:3470073Thanks Melissa, yes it is generally the women who prepare early for Christmas, otherwise it CAN become BARHUMBUG
Gifts don't all need buying from a shop, sometimes I take a friend out for a meal. Easy. And I can enjoy it too !!
Generally speaking, I do enjoy Christmas, inviting neighbours in and attending the carol service in the church.

11:5470080Last year we went up to the Plough for lunch in early October and found a Christmas tree at the entrance!

12:0070082We do tend to do things a bit differently in our house - it's my Old Man who does the shopping and the Christmas prep, and it was him who stayed at home for the first 6 months after our first child was born. We swapped about a bit after the rest started to arrive, though, and we tend to share jobs out on the basis of our skills and availability rather than our gender. Radical!!!!!!!

Same here...I do most of the shopping (if it was left to my wife she would stray no further than the local Marks & Sparks) I also do the cooking and running around wife, son to work deliver and collect daughter from school and birthday parties. It works for us so why bow to convention.
Todays menu
Leg of Lamb & Mint Sauce
Roast n Mashed Spuds
Fresh Long Stemmed Brocolli,Cabbage and Fresh Peas (what a price tho')
Carrrots
Yorkshire Puds
Trifle ( a bit boring I know but the kids love it - I'm not allowed it)
