15:2483697I just hope the political parties dont play politics with this,
as the try leaflet appears to suggest a town centre site is still an option can one f them say what chances there are for this to happen.
what we dont want is this being pulled in all different directions and dover loses out again.

08:2083767The only way a Town Centre hospital could have been built was if the flood-plain problems around the mid-town area, had been resolved by Southern Water, the Environment Agency and KCC working together.
I understood two years ago, that this was to have been done within two years - sadly it hasn't been, but I don't know why not.
I'll try and find out.
I haven't heard anything for a while, so not sure what has happened.

10:4683783I find it hard to believe it will all start next summer. The planning application has not even been submitted to DDC yet !

12:1183794i was under the impression that the buckland site was wholly owned by the n.h.s. making planning permission simpler and faster.

12:1383796Nothing is simple or fast with local authority planning departments.

13:3583804I didn't know there was a planning issue with DTIZ, it is a lack of commercial will to spend money there.....
Been nice knowing you :)

14:1283808Correct, Paul - plus the associated site risks, archaeology etc impacting on its commercial viability.

18:2683819alternatively a tall man with a remarkably small hat would be an acceptable option.

18:2883822So Brian - have you ever gone to a bank to raise capital to take risk with and invest in a business venture?
Have you ever had to complete a feasability study for such an investment, assessed the market, considered alternative sites and site risk, demographic issues, footfall?
Chances are you would choose an alternative to Dover's DTIZ as the site would very likely fall foul of more than one key indicator. Sort sighted? or a sensible investor?
