Do we need this, Peter? Looks like the turnout for the Police & Crime Commissioner is heading for an embarrassingly low figure; I can't see voting for the Chair of the BBC Trust being any more engaging........

It seems like an eminently workable and worthwhile notion, a People's BBC. You mention the PCC election Andy, but what about the X Factor?
That, in the past, we may have ended up with a Jimmy Savile figure, is a sobering thought.
