If this was a case of insider trading then he really boobed and it will not be a problem for the regulatory authorities to establish the evidence and prosecute. This is nothing at all for anyone to get excited about.
Shares move up and down, a poor set of Christmas sales figures was certain to damage the price for any retail company, that's how the market works. The shareholders will not be pleased at what appears to be a marketing failure and the Board will have to deal with that. Even the biggest and best get the odd wobble.

i was quite astonished to hear the cruise company bemoaning their financial losses when their are still people trapped on the ship.
that must be the pinnacle of bad taste.
