Don't let them get to you Sue! The world is continuing to change, not alway's in a nice way, but you have your own standards which many of your generation can empathise with.
Letter writing and face to face conversations have been superceded by faceless keyboard innuendo which is mainly the accepted norm nowadays . There's no body language in IT communications often resulting in misunderstanding of the posted comment.
