Correction to previous post - not all of the new ones are there and some have to be found an odd way (e.g. for 89, look for 89X) and involve lots of scrolling.
Keith - you said you would leave it to me to provide exact details.......

Which is not a lot of good if there are no buses scheduled Keef?

Without going back over all the posts I seem to remember Lew saying that Whitfield to Dover Town would be running at 60% of current capacity. With larger buses planned for the 61 route this should partially improve things. I use the 63 to go into town and whilst it is busy in the mornings, afternoons especially Saturday are usually light on passengers so no surprise with the slight reduction in service.

Keef, you claimed that
I do not fight for 'public transport'. That is a calumny.
How else will my cleaner get to Deal from whatever God-forsaken place she lives in? (I have tried asking her where she lives but her English is non too good - she just keeps repeating 'Ayshum, Ayshum'. On the other hand her productivity improved no end since I threatened to tell Border Force about her immigration status!

Well, this appears to be going nicely off topic. Can you leave your point scoring for the
Politics Forum please!

Keith,
There's no point in providing a service if nobody is using it. One of the cuts is the 87 - I very rarely see more than a handful on it outside the peak other than between Tescos and town. Carrying thin air around costs just as much as carrying a busload of passengers but brings in no revenue. It is significant that KCC have not stepped in to provide alternative services - no doubt Stagecoach gave them passenger loading figures.

New timetables, maps and a lot of blurb now on the Stagecoach website. They do their best to make it sound good...........(can you hear the irony in my typing?)

Some good stuff there with Buckland Hospital now being directly linked with Alkham and Temple Ewell via the 91. Dover/Canterbury down to every 20 mins from 15 mins much like the Folkestone service which won't cause much hardship for passengers.

Deal also connected via River.

The main reason for the 90 to Deal is to get buses there to work the Deal town services. In a 4 hour cycle they do 90, 82, 83, 84 then 90 back to Dover! The hospital link is an added bonus. Will be worked by midibuses (Solos).

Also gives River people a connection to the Kearsney Railway Bell and a direct link to Tesco

They have that already with the 60A, though not many seem to use it!

Lew no because we have a direct bus to Canterbury and the doctors surgery moved to Lydden .The other reason the other factor the 60a goes alround the houses to get to Whitfield quicker to go to Buckland bridge and change. When the 60a went straight up Whitfiels Hill I found it easy to get to DDC then the new route took longer so I changed buses at Buckland Bridge.Residents will use the 90 As they will change at Kearsney to get a connection to Canterbury. We are losing our direct route.
see I also know my buses.

I imagine 60a was diverted through the estate to try to improve loadings. Not very successful though. I'm surprised it's lasted this long!
