Thanks Sue, I was going to mention this myself. Difficult time for a lot of people but let's hope many can attend for a very poignant service.

Busy day Sue.
Look forward to being there - as Terry said, a very poignant service. My Dad was 4 when it started. He played his part in the second one though.

Not many comments regarding this.We put on a service to remember those who have and are still give their lives to keep us Free If we did not have freedom we would not be holding petitions or writing on forums.

I have not been home long.I attended the Service at Dover as you can see from Howard's photos.Went on to Sandwich for 10.50am where a service was held at the Towns Memorial. Most people layed white lilies. We then moved on to other churches in the town ,once again laying lilies. The last full service was held in St Clements.I arrived back home around 2.30pm .at 5 .30pm left for a service over at Walmer organised by The Downs Branch of The British Legion.
The Town Mayors of Dover and Deal also spent time going to different services. In all your Civic Leaders have spent Four hectic days ,however it's nothing compared to the sacrifices that were made so we might be free.
I read on other forums moans and groans but I thought these last few days was about bringing peace .so never again would our Country see such terrible needless lose of life.
Even today in Dover people were walking passed ignoring the two minutes silence.
I'm very tired but I wanted to share with you that some Councillors do care .

It was a great pity to see the comments made when the whole day was about remembering.
As per usual there were some totally oblivious to the two minutes silence and carried on in their normal way, maybe they thought we were all on a sponsored sulk?

Madam Chairman, Howard, there is unfortunately no cure for ignorance. I include ignorance of how hard some of our civic leaders work at times like this.

All rather sad Peter, most of us have been to "hot" countries on holiday over the years and when the penny drops that a religious procession is happening we tend to follow what is happening, covering arms etc.
Yesterday the problem people were our own indigenous people for the most part, am i bothered attitudes to the fore.
I take the point you make in the second paragraph, keyboard warriors will not get it though.
