Took my granddaughter Nicole on sunday afternoon and she loved it. Was put on the end of the line to meet the Queen and exchanged pleasantries, met our Sue the chairman of the council, dressed up as a war correspondent, chatted to a downed airman in his dinghy, looked at all the cars and motorbikes and ship models, enjoyed the model railway layout and decided she wants one, ducked down into the air raid shelter. There were enactors everywhere, forties music playing, lovely atmosphere.
A tremendous credit to Dover Transport Museum for putting this on. Doubtless they would have wished for more visitors, we were the only passengers on the bus from the Market Square in both directions, and there was nobody waiting. However, we had great fun and are going to join the volunteers, apparently they have about 140.
