Solar power farms

It looks like these things will be springing up all over the countryside
Farmers to get massif subsides to install these things

A subsidy meaning that there profits will be going on your electricity bill

All about EU emissions targets set by the EU Bureaucrats

Aylesham labour parish councillor Linda Keen gave her cautious approval to the plans.
She said: "Solar panels are certainly better than onshore wind turbines. It is for the people who live right next to the site to give their opinions, but we think it is a jolly good idea .

Is this woman of her nut? The poor will be subsidising these things on there electricity bills, this is not the cheapest way to generate electricity

Knowlton solar panels will be sited high enough for the sheep to graze under them, sounds like cheap roast lamb will be on the menu.

Linda Keen is a very nice, intelligent, well respected member of her community.
So the answer to your question in #2 is that 'No, she is not off her nut'.

Of course I would say that, as I know her and support her view on solar panels.

The poor are subsiding everything these days so why worry about leccy bills.

Well Keith.
If your trying to play playground politics with me, then don't waste your time.

I don't care anymore who caused what, the blame game is pathetic and not constructive.

I cannot affect anything that is happening at National level or higher, which is now sadly more corrupt than it has ever been.

I am only interested in local community and how things will affect our communities now and in the future.

PS. You have still not explained why solar power is useless?

He's right - solar is useless. In fact worse than that it's a blight on the landscape which industrializes our countryside.
Solar arrays merely exploit the subsidy racket which has blighted our energy sector which over the next few years will lead to blackouts and brownouts because of the obsession wit doing stupid things like trying to save the planet for gawds sake which, let's face it, doesn't need saving except in the mind of those who really wish for it so that they can tell themselves "I told you so!!!!"
The sight of domestic solar installations are as beautiful as stone cladding.
In order to produce any semblance of reliable energy we would have to cover vast regions of the UK with solar panels and even then they for some reason refuse to generate any energy at night and a lower output during cloudy weather and certainly none at all when covered in snow.
The carbon footprint of these things far outweighs any perceived or reported gains in saving the production of carbon dioxide. The chemicals used in the process of manufacture are highly toxic. They don't last for the reported 25 years and have to be maintained in order to keep them working, not that they really do.
They disrupt the energy transmission system.
without the huge subsidies there would be no solar arrays whatsoever in the UK. What does that tell you?
Most of the panels used in the UK are imported. All we do is use screwdriver technicians to install them. Talk about screwdriver economy. The same can be said, incidentally, for all wind turbines, biomass in fact all renewables.
Of course the handwringing middle classes think that measures such as solar, wind and others are important because there is a planet to save in the same way that they believe that we face a threat from overpopulation, DDT and other scare stories du jour.
That is only for starters.

We do not have the sun for these cells to work at full capacity,

If you have them on your roof or your farm, you are paid a taxpayers funded grant to top up the price of the money you receive from the electricity the cells do generate.

The people that do! not have them on there roofs ,pay for the people that do.

You need around £10000 to have them installed on your home, so you have a situation that the poor subsidies the better of.

You will be paying for this farmer and the German company providing the installations to enjoy the cash bones.
As a stand alone business this project would not be profitable

The driving force for this is the EU emissions cuts being imposed on this country by the fools in the EU,

Politics do come in to it because the conservative and labour have sighed us up to this.

You will be paying 20 % more on your energy bills to cover this ,Is that local enough for you

We need power stations not gimmicks, coal nuclear gas oil for a mix of stability.

PS. And I don't like the sound of them brown outs phill

last i heard was that solar panels on houses would take 25 years to pay for themselves, most people move on before that.

Keith, a good post about the solar panel scandal...Very interesting to see the champagne socialists defending the right of Farmers / Wealthy landowners and energy companies to install the panels and overcharging the public..The only winners are the landowners..Labour =Tory lite.
