royal mail delivery service is not the service previously provided and proud to be the royal mail and all that goes with that.

the view on unions bern i share but from the union point of view there has to be a way of supporting your membership, and you have to decide having recognised the union give them the abilty not put obstacles in the way to stop them from representing.
to show my even handed approach
if it's correct that ASLEand F went into the dispute on london undrerground having reached an agreement and getting £45,000 a year for it's drivers then that's wrong.
if its correct then there plea for triple time for boxing day working and a lump sum
was wrong, that;'s why they got the high wage to incorparate the bank holidays.

My view is that management and unions are as devious as each other, and that's ok because it evens out the odds! It is all part of the dance we do at work, and it is, at heart, fun, even though it has serious consequences.

I don't often get an opportunity to disagree with you as your normally spot on lol
but there are a number of issues
1; it does matter that unions are able to reprsent there membership without
interference from courts thats a very big debate
2; Royal mail always prided itself on the ROYAL in Royal Mail and locally this hasn't
been the case, so it's either the Dover area managers(as others within r mail
achieved deliveries) are not up to the job, so should be removed, or explain
themselves, and get royal mail back to the respected company it was.
3; I do agree with keeping us safe, and those you mention are some of many

i picked up same report from the press, but there not always reliable
so as don't know the full facts won't get to involved
but i do know aslef rarely go on strike
that they had reached agreement years ago to have bank holidays incorporated thus the high wage.
sadly this was achieved by others losing jobs so as another union within the raiway i did at the time question the role of aslef during these talks as the solidarity aspect
