22:1270413I will find out who this person was because the job was not done as the person with me will also tell any of you it was all over the path around the bend +I cleaned it off the run in to the pit you could see it had not been done for avery long time, but it was hard trying to hold my walking stick to ,I did have a smile or to doing it in fact I like doing it and if my legs get better I will join a very old mate of mind who just goes round picking up litter puting it in bags and the Council come round and pick them up,he has been doing it for years you must have seen him up and round water works hill and the road behind the Castle. Never talks to anyone but a very nice chap. Why did I do it, thats a easy one I might need theirs votes next may.

22:2770421Thanks folks, apart from that hazard above, it was indeed a very pleasant stroll down Whitfield Hill on that gloriously, late Summer, sunny morning. I`ve motored up and down that hill countless times over the year`s, and as someone mentioned above, it`s very little used by pedestrian`s. With so many legal people about these days, advertising accident`s and compensation etc, I felt like this item needed urgent attention, as they`d be a good case for anyone wishing to sue the local council for any mishap!

22:4470429For gawds sake Vic - I SAW the man in the high viz jacket sweeping the stuff back where it belonged off the path - end of story. I'm not saying you didn't go up there (although I have my doubts}, but the job was certainly done before you went up there because I SAW it being done NOT BY YOU!!
I'm not going to add anymore to this thread because you are seriously getting on my nerves now.
Colin I'm glad you didn't get hurt and I'm glad the council have rectified the fault.
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

22:5670444As I live very close to the Whitfield Hill I can agree with Vic, the speed limit needs reducing.

22:5870445As you see it in Colin Photo on page one is how I found it this morning there was about 6ft at the Dover end I did not have to do,so this person at 0700hrs could have started that end but to much for them and left it ,but the main thing it has been done and that is the end of it ,but will put it in my life story that I am working on.

Vic, I thought you were giving up politics? I'm sure I saw something in the local rag about this?
PLEASE tell me I didn't just dream it!

06:1470479I have taken Vics example and next week I will be taking a sledgehammer to Burlington House in an attempt to demolish it brick by brick without causing to much disturbance to residents or the passing traffic. Its mainly to obtain votes for my newly formed loony left red flag waving party and an attempt not only to get my name and photo in the local rag but also to get myself killed by being untrained ,unprotected by wearing a sleeveless shirt and a flat but not hard cap or safety helmet.
Vic you let yourself down by stating you did the road sweeping in a vain attempt to catch votes and not for the greater good of your fellow man.You also ,by broadcasting it,over the DF have self publicised yourself when you could have slipped up the hill (excuse the pun) and swept up the path anonomously and still have made the path safer (in your view) for pedestrians. A reckless act that could have led to your demise should a car or truck have lost control and knocked you and your dustpan into that great big refuse collection point in the sky. You were not insured nor dressed or trained for such an exercise so please leave to those that are trained and properly dressed. I regret yet again you score an own goal by being more concerned in self publicity and vote catching than you are in the welfare of your fellow man.
Jacqui not very diplomatic but truthful.
