She should be locked up or at least pecked to death by a flock of seagulls!

Had a look at the by-law notice in Pencester Gardens earlier and could see nothing relating to feeding the wildlife. There were individual signs prohibiting people from cycling, letting their dog off the lead and not clearing up after them.
There is a notice up in the window of the Gateway Centre trying to educate people on the matter but doubt that will have an effect.

One of them dumped on me earlier in Pencester Gardens, found the gap between my jacket and shirt - not very happy about it.

My belief is that the gulls have come further inland and are more aggressive as their natural food source has been depleted by us humans, and many natural nesting sites have been removed from the cliffs - again by us. When considering any method of control, it should be the least destructive.

This was this lunch time when people were hoping to eat their sandwiches in peace(some hopes). The lady concerned does the same outside Asda and near the Riverside centre attracting mainly pigeons.

Up until this year the seagulls had not learnt how to get the food from my hanging feeders which has a small dish that I put the mealworms in every morning. This morning one of the barsteward things stood on the small wall that is underneath and kept jumping up to make them bounce out.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I had a similar problem with the gull jumping up from the ground, bashing the bottom of the seed feeder trying to edge it off the branch and it worked a few times so I bought new feeders about half the length and the bird decided to give up.

The argument is not about sea gulls but the daft people that feed them, mostly with junk and leaving them reliant instead of hunting in their traditional way. We have the same problem with ducks and swans being fed stale bread that is no good for them and they mostly leave, thus polluting the water and attracting rats.
