Yes indeed Keith - even you lefties.
Like people often say, it's the person not the politics.
I'm sure I'll see you in Blakes before Nov. 4th. Andrew.

Well I went in for my stent on Friday morning - remembering to take the blood-thinning tablets.
All went well, although I had to wait over an hour for a bed before anything could start.
All young girls in the procedure room apart from a male doctor, so it seemed quite funny when a young girl said "take your pants off Mr. Walkden".
No problems at all, other than when they wanted to take some blood Saturday morning the "nurse" wanted to take it from the back of my hand - all previous blood samples had been taken from inside the elbow; it's always been painless and quick, but on the back of the hand was very very painful and slow. So painful in fact that I was sick and it spoilt my Saturday.
I was ready to come home at 08.00, but had to wait till after 3pm.
The Doctors had started their rounds when an emergency came in and another, then another. I appreciate of course that it is much more important to save someone's life than worry about letting a well patient go home.
I found out that they had four emergency patients, they managed to save three of them, so well done to the Doctors, but sorry about the one they couldn't save.
I'll take it easy for a few days then try to do a bit more exercising.
Roger

Good to know that you're fine and well, Roger.
I can't understand why they took a blood sample from the back of your hand. It will probably be bruised for a few days because of it.
Try not to catch a cold now - I have just caught one!

Good to have you back Roger. When I went a few years ago to have a cannula fitted to inject some "stuff" the nurse tried my left elbow first. No luck there so the right one was tried, then my left hand and finally my right hand - success!!
Having then been attached to a trolley drip I was taken into the doctor to add the mixture. "Ah" he said, "They should have taken your shirt off first".

Well done Roger, glad you have that out of the way and can concentrate on getting well now. I sympathise with having blood taken from the bak of your hand - it really does hurt. Take care and love to Jean xx

Thanks Guys - your support and thoughts are much appreciated.
Jean is doing quite well Jeane thanks, she's been doing Peritoneal dialysis for much longer than the specialists expected, so we must make the most of her "free" time.
Thanks again.

Thank you Richard and all of you who have given your good thoughts. I'll be starting some walking and gently build up - it'll also help my blood-sugar come down and lose a bit more weight.
Thanks again.

Good news, Roger. I am sure there'll be drinking to your health in the "underground war bunker".

I love to feel naughty Ian - I'm over 60; it's actually being naughty that makes the difference.

Good to hear that you are on the mend Roger, I'm sure that I saw you walking towards the town hall car park this afternoon but you had a turn of speed that left me standing in your wake

Thanks Barry - I was picking up my concert tickets for Friday. Jean says I walk far too fast, but it seems that with long legs I don't have much choice and off I gallop - glad I can, too.
