Did anyone read Lucy Cockcrofts report in Fridays Telegraph.Poor old Rogers backfired joke story was rehashed together with another Tory Councillor Roger Walker who sits on the Southend Council who has also been reported to the Conservative Party.
If nothing else at least Roger is doing his bit to put Dover on the political map.

roger is never out of the papers, radio or tv nowadays.
a bit like wogan used to be.
before we know it, we will have "breakfast with roger", "roger at teatime", maybe eventually, a late night rock show,
"a walkden on the wild side".
i knew him when he was just a district councillor.

I'm not going over that again.
I thought there was more important news items than a worn out old joke.

Very much doubt that Barry!

There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

i think that blue barry is right about the telegraph, i have noticed that it seems to have a more independent stance nowadays, making it more palatable to the majority.
at the same time "the independent" has recently had scathing attacks on the pm and chancellor, before they kept out of the party stuff, and certainly did not target individuals.
to confuse people even further, todays "guardian" ranted on about a "foreign" doctor adminstering a lethal dose of pain killing drugs to a patient.
not very pc of them.

Jacqui
and Barryw
I do listen to the editor on diffrent political programmes as well as reporters from that paper and it certainly hasn't changed that much
Hey Roger it seems you have got a bit of notoriety in your reputation matey. In my book that makes you local royalty! The only thing you ever did "wrong" was upset the PC brigade, and upsetting that bunch of lunatic liberal do-gooders is anything but wrong if you ask me! It's a bit of a hobby of mine, but you're out there on the edge doing it for real! And don't worry about those ribs from Keef - he's just jealous of your new rockstar wildman image!
Roger, yo da man, I'm a fan. I might even start printing off a series of "ROGER SAYS..." T-shirts.

your way off the mark!!!!!!
I'm far from PC
Theres many issues on here even Barryw and I agree upon, and Roger and I have often agreed and helped each other on many issues.
On this one issue I didn't find it a joke, any whilst I will always support peoples right to post, as i'v said previously posters have been on here offended or even said how there own children have been treated because of what pepople thought were not offessive yet these children were ridiculed.
If posters are happy (some posters) that they can cause offence then fine, I gave Roger full support when he saw he had offended but since then he decided it didnt matter.
This is not to do with PC this has clearly shown by posters telling how there children had been abused, i'm not happy with that.
As i'v said many times it was ill thought out, and you can't blame someone else cos it was his joke? at the end of the day it was in Rogers name and it was clearly going to offend, and when you do post they come sometimes with implications, i'm afraid this one wasn't in good taste, but i suppose thats the result of freedom of speech!!

roger has asked for the matter to be brought to a close, there are far more important issues at the moment affecting dover.
we have two major elections coming up in less than 6 weeks.
how will the way we vote in the county and european elections make a difference in our district?

sorry keith, i do not know what you are getting at there.
the point i made was that, it is old news, and frankly not that important.
we are now entering an election phase, that could have an effect on the future of our town and district.
will we have any discussion on the candidates and their policies?
Gawd blimey Keef, you need to relax a bit old mate! I was just funning around!!
