I don't think the police have thought this through, we have the far right having plenty of drinking time in advance of their march and the far left are assembling in Market Square 3 hours before they rally on Marine Parade.

This will look great for our visitors off the liners and we have 3 of them coming in at the weekend.

With the predicted good weather this weekend many cruise passengers will be taking a leisurely walk along the sea front and their lasting memory of Dover will be of masked thugs holding placards and police keeping them under control.

And the march being directed through the underpass, great pinch point for trouble to take place.

Thankfully there won't be too many cruise passengers and most will be Italian so could end up joining the far right groups!

I see Stage Coach have given advance notice of how their services will run. With all the holiday traffic plus the road works Dover will be in chaos.I can see most people will avoid Dover over the weekend.
It is quite ridiculous ,listening to the radio earlier there are ways of stopping these marches.
On a Facebook page someone recalls how the miners were banned from marching. They were fighting for their lively hoods, not like these trouble makers and some local do gooders.
How can we expect visitors to our town when this is allowed.
Our MP ,and police have got to be stronger.
Let them go to another destination.Do they go to Canterbury or Maidstone no poor old Dover.

The police have been contacting every permanent or temporary venue to find out if they have events planned for tomorrow, even this week trying venues well outside town, so either the gig is a windup or the people organising it have fantastic security.

Either the event is a wind-up or it is not here, we can only hope this is the case.
I strongly believe it is time these kinds of disrupting demonstrations, marches and gatherings were stopped wherever they are held in the country. Freedom of speech is all well and good but not at the expense of people's freedom of movement and their right to go about their daily lives.
I am sure the police could stop the march to the docks if they had the will, for instance they could say no but you can have your demo in the Priory Station carpark then get on the next train back home.
The whole beach area is virtually a no go area for children and adults coming from the town direction on this holiday weekend.

I see the police have finally got around to telling people wearing masks to remove them.

Now I know why the fountain has been so nicely boxed in, it was done to provide a platform for this unwanted bunch.
Anyone know what the sirens, air raid type not emergency services, are about I heard them this morning and again this afternoon.

Only 30 far right protesters turned up in the end, I bet they all go home tonight meaning police standing around tomorrow with nothing to do.
