I think if either of the two could have they would have, unfortunately they can do little but express their opposition.

Charlie has been vehemently opposed to all demonstrations but Kent Police are the sole decision makers as to whether they go ahead or not.

I'm not sure the police have the correct information on this one, the Facebook site shows only the 28th and no mention of music.

The press release from Kent Police didn't mention anything about music - I think Dover Express added that bit in.

I wonder how true this actually is, no mention of time and venue for the music.

I am old enough to remember the Mod and Rockers battles at Margate,Clacton etc on bank holidays in the 1960s.The difference is between those times and now is the fact that both far Left and far Right who have terriorised Dover 3 times this year are nasty thugs..At least the Mods and Rockers in 1960s did the healthy option of fisticuffs on wide open beaches instead of disrupting people and businesses.

I wonder who the probably mythical "hundreds of residents" were

they have been very quiet in their support prior and since these unwanted gatherings.

I don't see this happening probably just a ruse to lure the far left in for a wasted weekend. Concerts take a lot of organising and there has been very little publicity to help sell tickets.

If this was true a big pub would be needed with a landlord/manager who is sympathetic as there is a strong likelihood of the place being smashed up.

Doesn't bode well with the Disney cruise liner in at the weekend.

Can only be The Priory (or The Castle) can't it?
Although The Priory already have a legitimate band booked Saturday.

They used to home in on the Castle Inn nowadays the Priory Hotel but I can't see either getting involved with something so contentious.

They should stop it all before it happens, but the police will not

The last demo only attracted a few dozen knuckle-draggers, I really don't think we have much to worry about. If it's at the Castle Inn, kettling the revellers will be easy as Russell St is now a secure cul-de-sac within the DTIZ site. Unlikely to be at the Nelson because it's run now by a lady from Lithuania and a gentleman from Albania!

Yes but the public still have to pay out to police it cost many 1000s of pounds.

Talking of the "Nelson" went past this morning and their two posters advertising live football showed the most up to date match as 6 weeks ago, hopefully they are still going.
