I have the sad duty to inform you that Christopher Putka passed away in hospital on the morning of the 24th. An old friend of his told me this evening, following a call from a family member, and was content for me to share this with Dover Forum. Rest in peace.
What dreadful news I know I am only new to the forum but I enjoyed reading Mareks viiew on life and the photos of his family that he shared. My thoughts this morning will be with his family. God Bless him and them

Oh dear, what dreadful tidings.
We are so very sorry to hear this. I can remember his laugh so well, when we chatted.
We will be thinking of his family, and send our deepest sympathies and condolences.

This is devastating news indeed, absolutely awful news.
He was such a good lad all round, lots of fun. He came to many of the parties and he was around at the boat races and at the carnival and so on..always ready with a chuckle. He has been a forumite for as long back as we can remember and his good natured lefty posts were always enjoyable. I cant believe it.
He will always be a forumite as will Colin and Ken who we also lost in the past 12 months or so.
Devastating news for Maritas and Natascha and for his wider family too. Deepest sympathies to them.
Thankyou Phil for getting the information to us. Very sad start to Christmas day ..I will lock this thread in top position.

Very very sad indeed. Here is a picture of our Marek(right in the black shirt) in happier times...with RogerW at the Hannent Garden Party in 2007....Both standing under the canopy having a jolly laugh and a bit of fun. he was always good for a bit of jovial fun..you can tell from his postings of course.

Linda H and Colette B made and framed a montage for him of forum pictures and here he is receiving it...

His pool of friendship is both broad and deep and it's waters with this, the saddest news, are stormy. I feel this greatly.
I am sure his Church and his community of neighbours and loved ones shall honour his memory at this their time of Festival.
My heart goes out to his family, Maritas and Natascha who were ever truly loved by him and of whom he was so proud. Such was in evidence here time and again.
Long live the memory of our friend.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Terrible news, his family must be so distraught. My prayers and thoughts are with them all.
This forum has lost a lovely forumite, who will be missed by all of us, I was so looking forward seeing his post's again and to meeting him.
A sad loss for everyone.

Devastating news, Marek was so loved by many and he loved so many too. My thoughts and prayers are with Marites, Natascha and his boys, he was so proud of them and they of him.
I thought of Marek last night at the Christmas Mass in his church when he lived here in Dover, St Pauls, and prayed for him, so it is such a huge shock this morning. I will have a special mass said for Marek at St Pauls, I know he would like that.
We are all very sad here this morning and especially the girls who knew him very well.

I could not post my full thoughts earlier this morning I was so shocked and upset even though I had never met him. Christmas is such an awful time for anyone to die as those left are reminded every single year as long as they live.
Marek bought so much to this forum with his wicked sense of humour he will be greatly missed.
