Sad to read of Howard’s passing.......RIP
Like many others on this forum I am going to miss Howard’s interesting postings and sometimes his wry and often humorous digs.

I'm saddened to see that Howard's posts are now reduced to 'Guest 741'.

Not the ideal way to honour and remember this extremely long term prolific posting member.
I am not sure but I think he was here from the start of the original group.

Howard was great company on the bus to and from the town
Also at top of priory street whilst he rolled a fag whilst waiting for bus discussing the latest woes of the town .
Yes he was around very close this start of original forum and quite active
You would always get an opinion !!!!

Met Howard only once. A curmudgeonly bugger! We need more of his sort!

He was a stalwart of the original Forum when Rick started it up, followed by Paul B & latterly Chris.
Howard / Ilford was original Forum name. Very proud of his East London links & certainly knew many of the national & local politicians from that patch.
Had great conversations with him both on Forum & personally. He had a good relationship with local press & could ferret out a story & helped mischievously to make sure it ran its course with many resurrections as issues tend to reoccur .
He certainly suffered from ill health over many years.
Wicked winder up.
Kept Forum afloat & made if more interesting.

I'm very pleased to note that Howard's posts appear back under his HM1 moniker.

The original change wasn't intentional, it happens automatically to any account after 2 years of inactivity - I hadn't realised that date was coming up for Howard.

If you look over the years many of the contributors have decided not to contribute which is a Shame .
But you could always rely on Howard to be up there
Giving his latest view on national or local topics .
He was also before coming to Dover heavily involved in the labour party helping to elect a labour MP
Never dull when Howard was around
