Requiescat in pace Victoria Eugenia Fernández de Córdoba y Fernández de Henestrosa, a many-titled lady
The Duchess of Medinaceli, who had scant idea of the number of boats that held her gravy
Republics come, and come again
yet incongruities remain...

The curtain has dropped for Julie Harris, actor of screen and stage
she was Sally Bowles long before Liza became all the rage*
with her long career and her many Tony awards, there must have been many to thank
having strived since nineteen to machine her Grosse Pointe blank...
Story, perhaps Obit to follow...

Who are all these people and what sort of impact did they have on the world? Not a lot I suspect

Firstly, the question may be more correctly put as, "Who were these people?"
Secondly, they were as we all are, people.
[Leaving aside the fact that most that appear here are commemorated 'Officially' and semi-officially. Either by others in a professional capacity or by relatives or acquaintances.]
They appear here, to be ignored, or to satisfy much the same need as biographies in general.
As for, 'What impact did they have on the world?' I'm tempted just to wonder what you yourself Carole might be doing today if you were not reading this? And leave it at that, for the time being anyway.
P.S.
Some are part of the history of this world and of Kent in particular, in terms of honest-to-goodness dates and such and to the social fabric of Kent, England, The UK and the world. There is often a clue in the Clerihew.

Never mind Carole it keeps Tom happy ploughing through the obituary column finding all the people we have never heard off.
Very occasionally a name rings a bell with me like that of Julie Harris.

I will leave no impact on the world whatsoever save that today I have made a big batch of spicy chutney with produce from my garden. But who's interested? Glad you have not heard of most of them Jan. Thought it was just me not getting out much. Even Clerihew popped his clogs in 1956.

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.

For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
