09:2770799Ah no no... Rick's Movies have indeed gone. He did a great job on them for a year or so and as I understand it he was having difficulty finding the time to keep the effort up. Anyone who went through them would realise it was a big job to do...a lot of effort.

you are both totally wrong, rick decided to finish with it due to little response and also what paulb stated above.

12:1370846Oh heavens Sid! The film reviews have been gone several days..there is no papal plot or any other kind of plot. I know guys like a good conspiracy but there isnt one to report.

12:1570848Rick upsets Vic, but, it seems only Vic.
PaulB censors Rick.
Rick resigns film reviews.
All within 24 hours.
If Ricks posting had been about mussies, would it have generated the same reaction? I for one will never know as the decision was taken to remove the whole thread rather than just edit the inflammatory bits.
Appears to be a catholic reaction, even if that isn't the case.

12:1970850nice try sid, mostly incorrect.
1)i censored the thread.
2) i am not catholic.
3) the order of things happening has already been stated.
4) if the allegation had been about any other figure, religious or otherwise the action taken would have been the same.

12:1970851Just saying how it appears Howard, not necessarily how it was.

12:2170853no no..jeezez..Ricks reviews have been gone for several days. Had an email from Rick last week telling me he isnt able to continue with them. Took several days to take it down as had to be done by tech wizard Chris T. The more observant will have noticed that they have been gone since monday. Its now wednesday. Pope situation last night.
I asked Rick to do the Pope thing again but nothing essentially censored. All his vews are still there. There has been no falling out.
gawd I hope that asnwers it as we will be here all day with wild imaginings..

12:2470856Paul/Howard, I'm not worried in the slightest, but maybe an offical announcement of the end of Ricks Review would've helped.
I don't go to the cinema or watch many films so never really used the section. When I did take a peek, I found Rick reviewing films I was never likely to watch anyway.
I'm happy to move on, and thanks for the clarification.

Sorry I mentioned it now but as an avid film buff/anorak I liked Ricks reviews and appreciated the time and effort it must have took to complete.
Talking about conspiracies theres a film on C4 tonight about JFK its on at stupid o'clock in the morning but might be worth recording.
Sid just realised that JFK was a catholic..oh my gawd another holy roman church conspiracy...

16:3070907I have just noticed that my post crossed with Sids and gave the wrong impression - I was referring to the original post when I said I was thinking the same.

17:4370913I understood that the who's who section was for local people who have done a lot for the town and continue to do so? People who are recognised as being an assett to our town? Important people - not local nutters - oops! sorry - I mean not people unknown to the town who have not contributed anything important to it.

There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".
