This should generate a bit of discussion, adds a new and serious dimension to the debate about closing them -

i don't know what is more worrying, the closures or the fact there is a british toilet association.

Hence the expression..."You win, new loos."
British Toilet Association?
I have learned via the Huhne debacle that there is something called, The Worshipful Company of Management Consultants.

I don't know if there has been any more progress between DTC and DDC.
I'm sure a separate body could keep them clean and maintained for much less than is paid now, even if it was for half a dozen toilets.

to pee or not to pee, that is the question?
tis nobler in the mind etc etc.
not sure about that roger, the issue must have reached its first anniversary.
i understand that ddc and dtc were going out for a drink up to celebrate but cancelled as there were no toilets open.

When available we sell incontinence pads at the shop £3 a pack, they might come in handy if the toilets situation is not sorted.

Or kidney bags strapped to the leg and fed via a tube, if it comes to that Jan. Where there's a...will-eh?...there's a way eh? As the Canadians might say.

But Mel, the laws says you can go where you want to, or was it only in a policeman's helmet?

Hackney, in it's 'wisdom' went down the path of closing the public toilets and replacing them (not in the least one-for-one) with automatic/self cleaning booths in a deal with a pavement advertiser that has monoliths, with rolling ads showing on bother faces, littering the main street pavements. At about 20p a visit.
No wonder unemployment is constantly high with such a universal distaste of the grinding responsibility of looking upon people as an asset.
All forms of public service would, it seems, be much improved by the disappearance of the public, but ignoring or discounting them (us?) will have to do for the time being.

I can't help but think that if Dover can't resolve the relatively small matter of its public loos in a year there is very little chance of it getting its act together over High Street regeneration?
