not an inkling where this is from.
i think this is the south african one.

Glad we have a few flowers on the seafront but Howard's picture clearly shows the sunken garden beds chock full of weeds.

this is one of two identical plots in pencester gardens, both have fences broken down on a daily basis.
not quite sure what the fences are meant to protect.
more to the point this is a job for super silvie, only councillor pat sherratt knows her true identity, hopefully he will get a message through.

I know super Sylvia and some of the other volunteers. My wife being one of them. Their next task is to take on Pencester Park. I've already overheard telephone conversations about their plans. Wouldn't it be great if the Council worked with local people to make this happen... I remember the Park when it had the beautiful rose bushes and plenty of sitting. It's so central could we not have a Pencester Garden instead of a park. A pleasant area with different sections?

would be great if they did carl, there are committed councillors working on these things.
i think they need outside people to give the two councils a kick in the right direction.
went past the planter outside the town council offices today and it looked superb after a bit of sun and rain.
please pass on the good wishes of the forum to your wife and the other volunteers.

We had to change the lay out of Pencester for several reasons .First of all to accomodate the fair and other major events .There was a lot of anti social behaving going on in the gardens and it was decided to remove a lot of the shrubs and seats .
Talking of planters I had to ask a man not to sit on them today .What a shame people can not show respect

Thank you Howard, I will pass on the forums acknowledgement to Sylvia and the Team.
I will have to disagree with you Sue. The only thing by removing the seats and bushes, is you can now see the anti social behaviour more clearly!
We shouldn't get to a point that a Town becomes a boring concrete jungle because of a few individuals. The few should never control the many. I must have seen one of those major events the other day as I walked through the Park. Some drunks had stood their used beer can on the edge of the bandstand and started throwing stones at them. Shame they didn't attend the fair and try throwing for a coconut.

Carl the thinking at the time was some people causing anti social behavior were hidden from view .I personally liked it the way it was but some people were afraid to walk through the Gardens so the area was opended up .

Sue - we suggest (to prevent people sitting on the planters) a few cacti are planted in them !!

Good one Kath, Sea Buckthorn or even Holly would also work if something larger was wanted.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

is it really worth keeping these fences up, these were taken this morning and just look an eyesore.
