Just want to add my thanks to Sylvie and her team for making the town a more pleasant place to visit. Forget Mary Portas!

let's not deflect from the achievement of the volunteers that have given us something to be cheerful about.
party politics from all sides has clearly failed the town, time to dwell on what real people have done.

I couldn't agree more Howard - it's a great community achievement. I just didn't know what Keith was going on about - he must have politics for breakfast, instead of meusli.

I hope not, it would be a shame that some itinerant gobeens would steal shrubs and flowers that have been planted to brighten up our town for the Jubilee or at any other time come to think of it.
String 'em up, drawn and quartered as a bonus

popped down earlier on susan's say so and quite frankly it wasn't a riot of colour.
the foggy day did not make things look good but you can see a couple of flowers if you zoom in.

In Post 4 the DDC press release talks about a 'towable water device' which is now being used to extract water from the Dour as it enters the harbour to water flowerbeds in the town etc
Here is that very device.. in action on the seafront as we speak.
Ooops forgot to put the picture, here we are now...

Good write up in todays Mercury .Everyone involved received credit .It was a joint effort . and the planters look lovely.
I have asked that the flag be flown from the Town Hall.
