I wouldn't bank on getting a response as many councillors will only reply to those living in his or her ward.

DDC seem to be taking the simple way out rather than address the drink drug problem that seems to be rife in this area of town.
What tourists and visitors must think when they get off the buses in Pencester to be greeted by that sight I dread to think, if it was me I would probably get straight back on the bus if it was my first visit.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

We don't actually have any alcohol free zones as such as the signs say something to the effect of one has to hand over any cans/bottles to a police officer if he or she asks.

So they haven't ruled it out, all they have to do is withdraw the alcohol licence from the shop that sells to the miscreants and the problem would be solved.
