Wellards always supplied the ferries with fresh veg. and fruit. Their lorries were on board at least once in 24 hours, when I was there. I don't know if they still do it.

I'm not sure Alec, Wellards supply the cruise ships with all their fruit & veg though.
Oops, I thought Wellards were butchers, not greengrocers. Best make the thread headline "Local grocer carrotted!."

Took this about 10am Thursday, so looks like they were about
to start displaying.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

This well known one in Deal always has a good display, and nice looking fruit and veg.

that was paynes at one time wasn't it?
funnily enough, that cafe next door has or has exactly the same menu and prices as star nergiz in our own market square.
are they perchance related?

Not sure on that one Howard regarding Paynes. I only pictured the Deal one for comparison, but I know it`s been there a while. The images show just how colourful a fruit and veg store can brighten up a shopping precinct.

Colin, from that picture I can make a good guess which one is the vegetable, for cannot figure out who is the fruit. Any clues mate?
