All council's poster?
What on earth are you on about now?
If/when I decide to stand I'll be judged on what I achieve, you were a councillor for 25 years Keith, list your achievements........

Nice try Reg.
I've put forward a socially acceptable business proposal for you Reg, you lend money to those with a poor credit rating at low interest rates, everybody's a winner.
I'm surprised you haven't thought about it before, maybe the banks will give it a try.

I am at a loss to know what a councillors achievements, or paucity thereof, have to do with a barbaric system of credit.
If things in this particular 'industry' were pootling along nicely they would not be under investigation.
The issue is not; how much blood you can get from a stone, but why look to stones at all if its blood you want.

When you stand, first you will need to get some votes
We have another poster who has tried it and failed in a bad way picking up few votes
I wondered once your name in the hat if you will get more votes than him
I suspect not

Agree entirely Tom, I was simply replying to #22.
Tom, the issue is perfectly straightforward, when people have exhausted their traditional lines of credit they turn to Wonga types, because of the risk involved they charge exorbitant rates.
I'm surprised you don't get that to be honest, less so in Keith's case

I've told you Keith, you stand and I'll stand, a fiver to the winner in a head to head, both as independents.
You up for that or you only want to hide behind a red rosette?
Incidentally, your claims are merely supposition, you have no idea at all what my plans are, if any.

So you up for my challenge then Keith?
No rosettes, no party backing, two independents, winner gets a fiver.

Keep calm, folks!
Poverty is a way for the Government to collect taxes big-time.
Money-lending brings in big profits, which are taxed accordingly.

The present issue with these companies is not the rate of interest charged...
"...There are
a range of practices we are concerned about. These include poor lending checks, where payday lenders are failing to properly assess whether applicants for a loan have enough disposable income to repay the loan to term in full; another is rollover, where payday lenders are renewing loans without checking whether they will be affordable, even though a failure to pay off the loan as planned is a clear warning sign that a borrower could be experiencing financial difficulties."[1]
"The OFT said irresponsible lending
may have its roots in the way competition works, with lenders competing by emphasising speed and easy access to loans, rather than better interest rates. Lenders may be reluctant to carry out proper affordability assessments in case they lose business to competitors.
The OFT found that only six of the 50 firms it visited could provide documentary evidence that they had assessed consumers' disposable income as part of their affordability checks."[2]

David
I have no interest in standing as a candidate
or the labour party.
I will put it in a different bet if you like;
The same £5 bet that when you stand you get less votes that our other all councils poster when he stood

Denial of what Keith?
You keep asserting I will be standing at the GE as an independent, I didn't tell you that so you must have made it up
