11:1581880thats the problem whilst ian im sure as he says recognises the issue, lots of smokers dont.
iv been a smoker for many years and packed up about 15 years ago
i would never think of smoking around non smokers
or light up in a restuarant
but not everyone is the same

18:0781919I agree smoking in cars should be banned - for various reasons.
I once saw the result of an accident when a car hit a lamppost at speed.
The driver, who was smoking, dropped his cigarette and bent over to find it, running at speed into the lamppost and being seriously injured.

12:3582069as an after thought on this one, just wondering how many deaths are caused by traffic polution ie fumes from cars etc.
a futher thought ocured ,i would like to see all cars baned from britans roads just leaving public service vecuils free to ply there trade.those not wanting to use public transport should have to apply for a license to drive a car at a preminm,ie 10,000 pounds a year road tax and 10 pounds a liter for petrol, insurance should be set at 5000 pounds a year plus a health tax at 25%per year.
rant over.

06:3082192hi bern,have now got a grip.
but traffic polution does cause astma and other health infections.its largely concertrated main artirial routes and built up areas.i know smoking dosent help but what does one do to relive stress these days.

09:1582201Grip noted!! And I agree that traffic pollution is a real issue - children living close to major roads have a proven higher risk of respiratory conditions, as you say, and that matters a lot. The difference for me is that we can choose to smoke or not, and many smokers refuse to recognise that it can be really offensive and dangerous. Most of us cannot choose not to drive - I wish we could. I would love to be able to choose not to do a 190 mile round trip daily for my job. But sadly, we have to travel to work, so it is different.
Good stress relievers:
punching pillows
drinking quietly and responsibly from time to time
cooking - yes, cooking!
moaning to someone who won't mind (thank you, to my Old Man!)
meditating
sport - even watching......horse racing and rugby are my chosen stress relievers!
napping - I love a power nap! I have been known to pull over into a service station for a 5 minute nap on one of those regrettable journeys I have to make.
Thanks Brian - have a good day.

10:3182215If you are stressed (or to avoid more stress) take one Vitamin B complex tablet each day, with food, it will help a great deal.
Stress takes Vitamin B from your body and it needs replacing regularly. I take one of these each day, have done so for years and without it I feel under par.

17:1382294Actually Brian I was thinking of breaking wind. Most of us do far more of that at our age than having sex.
