I am unemployed.. recently got married, and when i was looking for work whenever i mentioned i was gettmarried was told that thanks but no thanks.. annoying .. very!!
But i cant for the life of me imagine that IF i ever DO sprog up ( very unlikeyly indeed) I sure as anything wont be taking 20 months off... i would be bored out of my mind...
I already am....

17:1771470If we had one such employee taking maternity leave we could manage it for a few months. If we had two we would probably go bust. That is the situation with many small businesses. That (coupled with the increase in minimum wage and the paid holiday entitlement) is why, 2 1/2 years ago, when I saw the recession coming, we let all our full-time staff go and closed the restaurant.

09:2171553That's sick pay and a combo or benefits. Most people I know go for a combo of sick and maternity to maximise time off with pay. Another one of the problems facing small businesses.

18:5971609For a small business worker time off for any reason is a problem as they do not have sufficient staff to cover, the larger businesses can usually cope because they have a large staff pool.
