Morrisons are generous when they put meat pasties and cakes on reduced offer to sell them, and sometimes when I've been about to take something that was reduced, they've told me that if I come back in a few minutes, it will be even cheaper, as they'll reduce it again.
They make the reductions because they won't put those products on sale the next day.
They don't seem to have a policy of selling meat or fruit that is not fresh.
I have spoken to my daughter and she said it could have been when they were very short staffed and management 'helped out' by wrongly packaging and labelling, they then had to do that lot again.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Let us hope that Morrisons either sold it on the day or destroyed the meat, as we know it's probably fine healthwise but dishonest recycling an out of date product. Maybe the relevant authority should have it brought to their attention.
the founder of morrisons used to make surprise visits to his shops to check what was thrown away and remind staff that they should mark everything down close to expiry date.
