I find it hard to believe that anything remained on a supermarket shelf for seven months after it's sell by date. The turnover is colossal. And with all due respect, at two, the child should have been out of nappies.

a very basic scam it seems, i bet he found them at the back of his fridge and thought he would try it on.
he appears to be a single dad, he and his little girl must eat a lot to get through 600 quid a month in one shop alone.

"Skye was sick, grumpy and had a messy nappy for about 48 hours."
I can't believe it took him so long to change it.

Unusually for the Forum we all seem to agree but the politicians have yet to join in.

Story seems to have died a death unless one of the nationals has picked up on it.
It'd be interesting to learn if any journalistic license has been used in the amount spent each month.
With regard to Morrisons Dover supermarket I was quite taken aback at witnessing the following in there. Meat reduced was taken off the shelf, re-packed, re-priced and replaced on the shelves for sale the next day.

They reduce items even more as they get towards closing time are you sure that you did not see that happening.

Yes I am sure Jan, the packs were on the shelf at a reduced price. They were collected and taken back to the butchery counter. They were unwrapped, repackaged, re-dated and re-priced. It was getting towards closing time.

I would guess that there had been a special offer that had come to an end and the staff were just getting ready for the following day. I will see what my daughter says when she gets in.

No Jan, there's no point you guessing. It was not a special offer that had come to an end. The meat had been reduced and was on the shelf, it was collected by a staff member and taken back to the butchery. It was unwrapped then re-wrapped, repriced and re-dated.
Thats disgusting ewww
