At least Alexander's daft student study room theories will remain on this forum. No-body with the slightest knowledge of how the economy works will be fooled into this kind of thinking.

The latest Sky headlines (see link above):
Poverty Blamed For Increase In Child Neglect
only goes to show how right Alexander is in speaking out for the people whose lives are being ruined by poverty, which is exactly that - as seen in my previous posts on this thread - for which Alexander is once again being insulted by Barry Williams, who is always allowed to getaway with it!
The Government needs to implement a financial policy of tackling poverty, either by way of a Wealth Redistribution Law to make sure the super-rich are not allowed to STEAL Society's right to live by STEALING our money and hoarding it, or, if they haven't the guts to do this in Parliament, by printing off more money and this time round giving it to those in need, such as by increasing job-seekers allowance and child benefit.
Benefits must be increased to at least double. If the State will not do anything to find work for the unemployed, then the State MUST double or treble unemployment benefits!

Hopefully there won't be another string of Barry's usual insults.

Alexander - no-one can take your insane economic theories seriously, no-one who knows anything about how the economy works. You get that response because time after time, issue after issue, you exasperate people by ignoring the facts for your own imaginations.

Alex, printing money will actually make the rich richer. Why? Because the rich don't actually possess money, they possess assets such as property and shares. If you print money you will eventually make the price of those assets rise (in money terms). The poor will still be just as poor because they have already blown the nice new notes you gave them, while the rich are rubbing their hands over how their property portfolio has just doubled in value, and the rental income too.
It's an economic and mathematical truism that the poor (those who earn too little or spend too much to be able to save) will always remain poor, while those who save and invest will grow richer. So the gap will always continue to widen, not even the use of Keefonomics can change that.
However, introducing supply-side policies to strengthen the productive private sector will eventually lead to employers becoming able to pay higher wages, the better-off workers will therefore pay more in tax, enabling the government to take more low paid people out of tax altogether.
Reducing the rate of corporation tax is key to this. Actually I would favour abolishing it altogether, transferring the burden onto the recipients of dividends.

You are right, Peter, in your assessment on QE, however, in my post on the previous page I did say that a QE measure would require a strict inflation-curb policy on the part of the Government.
This would prevent the stink-rich becoming richer on a money-printing initiative.
The fact is, though, Peter, the Bank of England is likely to do some money-printing any time soon, according to available information.
My point is, this time round it should be to the direct benefit of those really in need.
Examples:
1 to pay off hopeless private debts that people have contracted at very high interest rates and which they could never pay off. Often - indeed usually - these are hard-working people with children who got themselves in a debt spiral, have paid back all the initial borrowed money, but are paying mountains of accumulated interest.
2 Increase unemployment benefits for people who we know are out of work because there is so much competition from Eastern Europe. It's not fair to force people into unemployment and then make them suffer on peanuts-benefits.
3 Fund training courses for unemployed people to help them get back into work, so-by relieving employers from training expenses, such as apprenticeships. Training courses should also see the participants receiving a decent income during their training period.
4 increase the minimum wage for UK citizens, but not at the expense of the employers.
And a few more.
As said, Peter, the BoE will probably do more QE, tens of billions of pounds worth in one go, but it is likely to go to anyone OTHER than those really in need.

Barry, there is one reason, and one reason ONLY, to explain your outbursts:
ANY mention of fairness in Society and of regard towards the hard-working people on minimum wages, or people who are debt-stricken, or the unemployed, is, for you, a taboo, one that you will fling yourself against with a catalogue of very personal and insulting abuse, which you are time and again allowed to get away with!
Any mention of the stink rich who hoard money that they detracted from Society is another taboo, for which you are prepared to mete out a string of personal abuse.
And you quite evidently believe that all monies and all things related to finances are the personal possession of- and come under the very personal and privileged governance of- a select few people in Society, as if all destiny belonged to these few "select" persons.
Yes, as if you were the boss of Society and had the right to lord it out over others and decree their misery and unhappy destiny.
YOU ARE NOT!!!

Alexander - you really should calm down. Try sticking to things you know a least a little about and stop coming up with nutty economic ideas. It is these mad ideas you come up with that I am targeting, nothing personal, apart from the observation that you learn nothing and take nothing on board from people who do know a thing or two.

OK, I've just deleted what I posted 5 seconds ago to Barry W.
This offensive person should not post anything to me any further.
I would consider quitting if this goes on! Last warning! I won't refer to BarryW anymore or comment on any of his posts.
Hope he does the same concerning me! This is sheer insult!
