Olympic Torch celebrations

I saw on the local news tonight that it will be a ballot for tickets for the celebration event when the torch gets to Dover. Apparently you log onto Ticketmaster from the end of May to register interest and it's then a lucky dip if you get a ticket or not. So does that mean there's chuff all for Dover residents then? Surely we should get some sort of priority.
Or maybe not as the headline act is a not very famous garage act called Rizzle Kicks. Surely there should be someone properly famous at such an event? I saw them on the telly and they're not my cup of tea at all.
Luckily, or not, I live near enough to the seafront to hear it all for free but it once again smacks of disappointment. Olympic Torch Relay Evening Celebration 18th June 2012
Tickets
Tickets for the evening celebration stage show in Dover, which includes a performance from chart toppers Rizzle Kicks, will be available by ballot from 31 May.
You can register online from 9am on 31 May to midnight on 14 June on the Ticketmaster website.
Each household will be able to apply for up to five tickets, and any under 16-year-olds will need to be accompanied by an adult at the event.
Recipients will be selected at random (although priority is given to Dover District residents) and all applicants, whether successful or not, will be informed by Ticketmaster between 15 and 18 June.
Tickets will be free, however a small administration fee will apply.
The Show
The evening celebration - Song for Dover - is produced by a partnership between Dover District Council, Arts Council England, The World Famous and Kent County Council.
The stage show on Dover Seafront on 18 July starts at approximately 5.30pm and runs until around 8pm, and includes:
20 minutes of local entertainment, including: the song 'Pass the Passion' written and sung by children from a range of local schools
the Snowdown Colliery Male Choir and
local cheerleading squads the Vista Twisters and CJ's
Lloyds TSB bringing 20 minutes of stunning acrobatic performances
Samsung staging 20 minutes of amazing dance performances
Coca-Cola showcasing 20 minutes of the hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks
The last torchbearer of the day lighting a celebration cauldron.
The stage show is organised by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and the three Presenting Partners of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay - Coca-Cola, Lloyds TSB and Samsung.
Unsuccessful applicants won't miss out, there are plenty of activities to enjoy...
During the stage show the Olympic Torch Relay will be working its way around Dover, before arriving on the stage. This is a fantastic opportunity for residents and visitors to line the streets and welcome the Olympic Flame to Dover.
Firework Finale open to Everyone
To round off this unique event, a spectacular firework finale, open to everyone, will be held on the seafront to celebrate the Olympic Flame and the area.
This specially commissioned show created by Kent-based pyrotechnicians 'The World Famous', will combine five local choirs - singing new music by Helen Chadwick and Howard Moody - with fireworks across Dover Harbour.Been nice knowing you :) - 17 May 2012 21:01173004

The torch will arrive via a tall ship and land on the end of the Prince of Wales pier by RNLI boat. It will then be taken around the published route, up to the castle, through the town etc and then finally arrive at the live stage show.
Obviously organisers are hoping the torch route will be lined by people (presumably who didn't get tickets to the stage show).
Once the stage show ends, the promenade and everything will be opened up where it is anticapted that up to 30,000 people will come to watch the massive fireworks display in the harbour, accompanied by music from 5 local choirs.
Event pages will not usually appear on Ticketmaster until a couple of days before they go on sale. - 18 May 2012 16:45173135Its a ballot for the tickets with local residents hopefully getting preference, have to say do not know much about Rizzle Kicks but I guess the younger members of the community will know them, not sure on what the capacity will be in front of the stage but supposedly health and safety comes into it as to how many people are allowed in that area.
Ticketmaster usually charge a administration fee so watch for that.
