....I'd have got a ticket.
It's been parked on the double yellows for the past three weekends.

happens around my way at weekends, very little chance of getting a ticket.
not so bad sundays but saturdays there are delivery vehicles and buses that have to abhort journeys.
As Terry says, if that was me I'd be ticketed before my feet hit the pavement. Why are these people not?

Terry, is it only there at the weekend, if so I hope the police are reading the forum and visit Shooters Hill next weekend.

I know but don't the police tell them if they know there is a problem.

No doubt the car will park there until it is asked to move... which may be a long time ....

ohh now if you want to see some parking you need to go to the top of Springfield Road
been there twice this month and there is a little small light blue car, last time it was parked on the bend.. the best was on Thursday it was across the top left hand part of the junction, so if you were coming along to go down the hill like I was, you have to swing past it, it was even parked slightly on the bend
straight across the junction!!

So what's the answer Keith?
Do we all ignore the double yellows?
Or, should DDC actually get some increasing returns and put more wardens on the streets and generate more money?

whilst im not the man with all the answers
i do have a viewpoint
i presume you have already made contact with traffic waredens dept
which if not that would be a good start.
and yep, if yellow lines are not to be enforced then theres no point having them in the first place is my opinion

can i add the junction of malvern road and clarendon place a nightmare on any day worse at weekends.
not sure we need more wardens, i bet the present ones might like a bit of overtime.

Other than mentioning it on here Keith I've done nothing about it so far. If the person persists then I will. From past experience trying to get hold of someone at the weekend at DDC is a nightmare. When I tried it last I was on a mobile, the answer-phone message was so long my credit ran out! I concede that was a while ago and things may have changed.
On the first occasion the car did actually block the entrance of the King's Hall. I assumed it was a one off and was surprised when it came back again.

a picture on here is more effective than representations to d.d.c. in many cases terry.

I know this person is doing wrong but should we be posting number plates in photos? I know cloning unlikely off of a forum but I would not be happy if mine was in a picture on here.

My answer to that Helen is this. If I was the only person to have seen this I would have obscured the number as it would have been uncorroborated evidence. However, a neighbour pointed it out, so to my mind it was in the public domain just like any other car on the street that you would see.

While that is true as we've seen on the 'cycling on pavement' post the photos are not of people's faces. Is it fair to single one out when there are so many other offenders? It's more protection of that persons identity and car more than anything (yes I know they are parked illegally). We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one
More to the point whats the weight restrictions on the Elizabeth Street viaduct? I know Jubilee Way has one. To me, although legally parked, that looks like an accident waiting to happen. I hope they monitor the structure regularly.

I take it you mean the HGV's that park on the approach road to Channel House Helen, as you say a awful lot of standing weight there.
