11:3883785As many of the oul stagers will know we have had Christmas Parties going back for 11 or 12 years way back as far as the old days when Rick Jones/Mike Potts launched Doverweb and the Bolands joined up soon after.
The parties were always popular and a great way for old political adversaries to meet up..and always were pleasant encounters. Different political guys poles apart would sit and have drinks and assorted foods and chat away to their hearts content.
We did Christmas Parties, Summer Parties, Leaving Parties, Birthday parties..etc
Sadly this year we have to break with that old tradition. Our ace member and PR individual Colette B(oland) who always organised all this side of things so that oul curmudgeons like myself could get on with doing the forum..well Colette has been ill for a couple of months now and very much out of circulation. Her input has vanished from Doverforum..her pictures etc.
We had hoped one time that she would make a recovery in time for Christmas but its not the case.
So all n all we have decided to not do any party but hope everyone will understand this break with tradition...nor will any of us be going to things like The Mayors Annual Christmas Dinner. We always brought pictures from that event to the Forum but not this time...so in effect we are out of circulation.
So a big change with tradition, for now anyway.

13:2283802All forum members are welcome to join us on the 17th, we could perhaps arrange something for the forum between Xmas and New Year, but without food as we are doing some heavy kitchen cleaning during that period.

08:5983874PaulB - and Posh-Barry too of course, I'm very sorry to hear that Colette has been ill for some time, I just assumed she was very busy working and that was why we hadn't heard much of her recently.
Hope it isn't a serioous illnes, but two months is more than long enough to feel unwell.
Give her our love and wish her well from both Jean and me; hope she is well enough to enjoy Christmas.
