Keith, I am neither catholic nor C/E.
I don't recognise either pope or queen as my head.

The popes are not the successors of Saint Peter. St. Mark the Evangelist is St. Peter's successor.
The Catholic Church's claim of apostolic succession is apostate.
The C/E claims Henry VIII as its founder, whereas King Ethelbert of Kent lived 1,000 years earlier, and founded the English Church in Canterbury.

The original English Church, and the original Celtic Church.
As you yourself stated, Keith, the C/E is in a rout, it's churches are being torn down or converted to flats and supermarkets, its members turning away in droves.
Masses of people are turning away from the queen and her leadership as head of the church,, she's on a losing card.

Indeed I think the royal family live on planet Zog with their self-glorification.
