I would like to know who the PCSO is, and where is the play area?
Howard McSweeney wrote: The area as a whole has very little crime and vandalism
Quite a lot goes on and unfortunately is not reported, and when it is reported nothing done about it. Why waste our time hanging on the phone for nothing to be done, the police haven't got the resources, we have a prowler going round looking in peoples windows, car break in and burglaries, plus a lot of drug activities

"but have not even got a regular PCSO, not even a decent play area for kids"
I quote your own post Sheila but please I meant it tongue in cheek and appreciate both wards are deprived, the difference being the level of social housing.
Very few grants will go to areas that are predominately filled with privately owned properties regardles of the residents that reside in them.
If private investors were to invest in leisure facilities (independent cafes, coffee shops etc.) In priory ward the resident demographic would improve, if they did that in a predominately social housing area there would be no change other than in the level of resentment and vandalism.

Sheila Amos wrote:I can't understand how St Rads can be one of the most deprived wards in Dover, it has had a lot of grants spent on a lovely Community centre, who decides this. They want to come and look at Priory ward, place looks more like a slum, rubbish dumped in alleyways on a regular basis, crime rate fairly high, but have not even got a regular PCSO, not even a decent play area for kids, a Community Centre in great need of funding, not robbing as it has been lately by some moron, taking the Bingo machine that we use to try and raise a few bob to get work done, I could go on but what's the point, Priory will still be Dover's best dumping ground
Yet more proof that St Radigunds have the ear of DDC with the new state of the art play area at Triangles.

yet more anti social behaviour tonight, parents partying while kids run riot, chastise them and get stones thrown at your property, couple of hours later police arrive, party out off hand comes onto the street and brawling starts, how much longer do we have to put up with it, same groups same families and relations, when police arrive full of apologies and are let off

Next time it kicks off why not phone one of your elected representatives and invite them round to sort out?

Shiela you will recall a case a few years back when I sat rounda table with p Watkins r walkden and agencies on a family close to you.
Sadly having argued the locals views, and that this family had been helped by everyone, all the do gooders who probably wouldnt even know where the road is.
All sticking up for the family, no matter that they terrorised not just the road but Dover.
One recently charged with stealing 4 of Kelly turners collection tins.
Agencies need to change
Priory cant continue to be forgotten

Wrong lot Keith, nothing at all to do with them, landlords do not care who they house so long as the council pay the rent and feed them, come for a better life and treat the people like s***, I always thought I got married many moons ago, but according to these people, because they are confronted and told off for damaging property etc , my son is a b******, I feel sorry for the people that live next door to these families, I hopefully if am able to get out Thursday evening will be visiting a certain group, if you want to come along by all means do

Sheila,
I was highlighting in support of what you were saying by highlighting just one individual family and the issues that one family can have on the wider community.
This was one example.
With regard to landlords, in many cases you are correct, although I have put pressure on landlords and families have been given notice to quit and gone. doesn't solve the problem but at least helps those who have all these issues to deal with.

I remember the meeting at Priory Forum after the Police had asked residents to record all instances of anti social behaviour from the family in Westbury Road. Dossiers were made over a three month period by residents who were then told that the Police would take no action as the new idea was to help such families assimilate in the community!!

Yes Howard as you recall I sat round the table with Watkins and walkden and I recall after the meeting R Walkden telling how he thought it was a good morning I said, but there were no results for local residents, the family continued to disrupt the District, how can that be a good morning?
Typical of a Cllr out of touch!!!
This was after years of trying to work with the family!
Every agency a do gooder for the family, none looking at the bigger picture, nor wanting to hear it.
none local living
Some had no experience of such families and the way they disrupt community wide.

Were still partying at 5 this morning, a little quieter than last night, after police went away last night window was closed for half hour, then wide open again, music slightly quieter, and kids inside, but still not good enough for the near neighbours.
Saturday partying just round corner, same friends or relations, kids running riot again, trying to climb fence into Community Centre, got sticks from somewhere and were fighting in the street how much more do we have to put up with, same group party in Clarendon Street as Howard knows police have been called there also

Where do they find all this money for partying? They don't have to get up for work in the morning.
The other thing is the Council "noise people" who can sit outside house and measure the sound decibels.

Nothing worse than having bad neighbours in the street simply because there is no escape from them, just a thought.
How about making it known to the authorities that the tv programme Nightmare Neighbours (or whatever it is called) are being contacted because of their lack of action.

Apparently there have been problems of vandalism in other parts of the ward, 2 streets in Maxton and one in the conservation area which the police are aware of.

I don't think the PCC will be too concerned about a visit to Dover as it has a low serious crime rate, although we do deserve foot patrols in the Town Centre to deal with anti social behaviour.
What meeting with the Hub Keith?
