agreed jan,the paths are in a bad state of affaires.two bits spring to mind,1,outside argos deep depression fills with water when it rains.2,the stretch of path between the works and the vodophone shop is the same.

Thanks Neil, you've made some interesting posts in the past and good also to know that at least we are on the same wavelength on something!
Been a supporter for some years now but unfortunately just missed seeing Lennie Lee play but luckily was in time to witness the great Leaworthy in action.
Hope you can soon get to a home game!

Seems to me that Neil has a lot to answer for - I put it to him that he bribed Sepp Blatter to put the World Cup just down the road from him so that he could save on bus fares. Never mind that the cream of world football will be playing on sand in 50 degree temperatures.

To be fair there are quite a few different posters from all different backgrounds, and quite good in varied view points.
On the question of councillors contributing, there are few like myself, who don't give a toss andjust say it as it is,
I do also contribute on political and non political items, and inform as much as possible.
I can only make myself available through my contact details, face book, social media in general, and this forum, and hope this helps.
but the likes of collor who used to slag off other cllrs for not contributing, as soon as tories got control of DDC he stopped contributing.
I have to say, I know that from being high profile does bring with it, people ready to shoot you down, often from people who do little in public life, or others that just have a total negative outlook on life.
I'm the first to admit that active councillors are few on all 3 councils, but to post on here tojust be slagged off, I can understand why some of the better councillors don't contribute.
On the Love Dover, DTC lost control of this some time ago, and we can say goodbye to the £350,000, that said I continue to highlight it wherever I can.
But its down to this group to engage and update us although I won't hold my breath.
On the P/R monies I have raised this before, and i'm going back in November to ask again exactly where is the £6.000 spent.
So keep it up boys and girls
its a great forum

As it happens, Howard, the second largest stadium is but a five minute walk from my apartment, so no need for bus fares of any kind
Yes, I am sure we will disagree in other threads, John, but on the substance of DAFC, we are very much united

I can't understand how St Rads can be one of the most deprived wards in Dover, it has had a lot of grants spent on a lovely Community centre, who decides this. They want to come and look at Priory ward, place looks more like a slum, rubbish dumped in alleyways on a regular basis, crime rate fairly high, but have not even got a regular PCSO, not even a decent play area for kids, a Community Centre in great need of funding, not robbing as it has been lately by some moron, taking the Bingo machine that we use to try and raise a few bob to get work done, I could go on but what's the point, Priory will still be Dover's best dumping ground

Sheila
hope your well you know I share many of your views sadly party politics often gets in the way of issues around OUR ward.
you raised a number of issues which I know your aware of, but for everyone looking in,,,,,,,,,
Play area, this has been ongoing, and promised for a number of years, the money was provided, then spent in the coffers of DDC.
We have last year had an announcement from P Wallace saying he has got money from Tesco's for a play area, no consultation on where to best site it, or enough dosh to provide a play area.
I have attempted to find out from him and his party where is the rest of the money coming from? where will it be sited> ?? how long more will Tesco wait for the play area to be in place beforere calling there money and we all again lose.
So I will like many in the ward continue to pressure all and everyone to put back what they stole.
Bingo machine
This is a sad tale which I have highlighted on our face book page ,and Dover for the delighted
at the end of the day it's quite sad when as volunteers we try to keep afloat and people steal from the hall putting a good fund raiser in doubt.
Priory ward;
I can understand your frustration on the ward in general, and have to say although st rads is deprived priory is, as you say much the same.
St Rads is a council estate and often because councils have input into these they tend to put there resources there rather than private homes such as in priory.
Priory has as many, if not more problems as st rads.
You will recall I reported to the cawca committee, with other committee members we met DDC councillors and officers to do more for priory, many promises were made by them, but nonehave happened, and in my latest contact with them they appear to have ditched our ward again.
One thing I hate is wasting my free time.
Sheila you know we struggle to keep afloat by hard work and all by volunteers, and didn't have a community hall built for us, we fund raised to raise the money to own it.
but we are lucky in some ways, we have a thriving, busy community, and a hall that is known as the centre of the ward.
People do come together when the need arises, the hall is booked up with little space for any more bookings, so we are lucky.
We do of course need all the cllrs who represent the ward to do so, but also know where the ward is lol.
Priory is a dumping area often not looked at in a coordinated way by all the agencies.
Keep your chin up Sheila
We will fight on,,,,,,,,,,

Priory is in desperate of inward investment but sadly property owners in the Clarendons are quite happy to let their houses go to rack and ruin whilst the taxpayer mostly pays the rent. The area as a whole has very little crime and vandalism and as said the Community Centre despite no grants ever coming their way.
I seem to remember their being differences of opinion over the where the play area should be so inevitably the money offered was spent somewhere else. We really need all our Councillors involved on this issue but Labour ones are keeping it to themselves. The Tesco would have not been nearly enough and as Keith says is likely to be withdrawn anyway.

I love the new "fight" regarding which ward is worse than St Rads.
As an ex St Rads inhabitant I would have said it was no worse than any other area that houses those who are (maybe) not so affluent as those who live in "posh" River.

Well hopefully Ihave outlined a little in the way other agencies work, happy for us to voluntary do the work, often that they should be doing.
No one says one ward is more deprived but don't put all your eggs in one basket.
I'm even all for st radigunds cllrs coming on here and stating why they feel st radigundsshould get a larger slice of the cake most of the time.
And I'm here to push the priory ward
k
