I can see Reg, Keith and BarryW's keyboards warming up at the possibility of another political thread but NO !!
I noticed today that the former Labour Exchange building is up for auction
http://www.cliveemson.co.uk/listing_view.asp?Lot=106&Auc=153
Let's hope someone purchases it and brings it back to it's former glory....
Been nice knowing you :)

Next door, to the side of the building, used to be a pub. It was closed down and became derelict, and my mate and I used to go in from a back yard and play around.
One day a stair-case broke after we had gone up, so we had to climb down a drain pipe to get back out.

Could be another building for Wetherspoons to "look after".

There are some gorgeous but forgotten buildings in Dover, this is one of them. Sad to see it left - it is good to hear someone might have an opportunity to make it lovely again. Let's hope.

Apparently the building was withdrawn prior to the auction....

Forgive me for bring cynical

but would its inclusion in an auction stop any council action forcing the landlord to tidy it up ? and its subsequent withdrawl mean that the clock starts again ?
