I still think Mr Matcham should be allowed to report what he can as he was there its only fair he has worked hard for this town for many years, those people who disagree with him reserve judgment until we have had the chance to listen to what Vic has to say this is Important for this town.My dad always said if you have nothing good to say about anyone keep you mouth shut it gets you in a lot of bother. Please vic in your own time.

Thank you, I have given my report on the main issues, and what was told me about the Dover Hospital and the new build ,but please go ahead with any questions you might have,I would like to do that, and by doing it I feel I have not wasted my time, but I can only say what was told me. I did not stay to the end of the meeting as I said before I had to go to a council meeting, but I will do my best with any answer to your questions, there was others from Dover who might have stayed till the end and can report on what happen after I had gone. Thank you.
We was off to Scotland today but because of my leg I now have to stay local. So I will about all weekend..
Vic are we going to have a proper hospital with all services or as people suspect a ploy clinic that is slightly bigger than the health center, and is it true that DDC stooped the hospital going to Whitfield, and were is this going to be sited Thank you

Mr Taylor, thank you for the way you have put your questions.
(1) No we are not going to get a Hospital with all what goes with that we will not be geting a A@E or beds etc,but what I can tell you we will be geting more than just a updated Health centre and I think also we will have more than what Buckland Hos/offers now. And I was told we will have more Outpatient Appointments saving that very long around trip for some.
(2) As for the Whitfield site, this is a hard one,I think there was issues beween the D.D.C. and the N.H.S. over this site, and if they worked harder with each other,we could have got the Hospital at Whitfield.
I hope that has been a help thank you. As I said I did have a talk with the Chairman etc before the meeting, and put to him the questions I would have done if I had stayed to the end of the meeting.
I didn't attend the meeting. But the trust chief executive in July 2011 confirmed that planning consent for whatever is built won't be submitted for approval until at least September 2012.
The sort of facility described above fits GP lead polyclinic status far more redily than a hospital description.
The other element to be incredably mindful of is the immenent switch from PCTS to larger potentially GP lead healthcare commisioning. Which opens up a whole new commisioning / funding discussion.
Indeed - funding streams are developing as we speak and the whole kit and caboodle will have a different shape soon. And Peter is right about those meetings - I have been on the other side of them! And #18 sums it up for me!!!

planning approval to be submitted earliest 2012.
in other words later than that, then will it be submitted with a chance of being approved?
once it is finally approved will the funding still be available?
it is all pie in the sky and we are further away than ever, i tend to think that a healthcare centre is the most likely outcome sometime in 2016/7.
I fear you are spot on with your guestimate of timing Howard . I agree totally with Bern with her view of AGMs and the fact that the funding and decision making structures that we have now , will not be the structures that agree and fund the final outcome
Vic thank you very much but it seems to me the NHS are telling us what we will have and not what we want we need a real hospital with full services not a clinic with GPs that will leave there surgery's to spend time at the new one, when a GP sends me to see a consultant its because he dose not know whats wrong which means we will still have to go to the big three. I really think we should go back to them and tell them what we wont.as a male nurse for over 28 years I think this is a NHS white wash come 2016/17 this will have change again leaving this town with out proper health care, The MPs in power now want to sit up and take notice if they wont our votes in the future, its no good them saying money is tight stop sending millions to foreign countries and start looking after your own people.

i don't think it is about money mr taylor, much more to do with small town politics.
every time the subject of a hospital comes up all the egos come in with where it should be.
we should have let the health authority make the decision and snatch the money out of their hand before they change their mind.
i doubt that any other town offered such large quantities of used fivers would have bickered in such a way.

Mr Tayor. I was told we will see more consultants coming to Dover to see the public.
The Chairman did tell me that he does feel very sorry for the public of Dover and what has happen in the pass and even now,but they are trying to put it right now. And the new build will not go ahead till 2012 now, if the plans are passed by the D.D.C.
So we must go along with that.
What you have said has already been told to them many times over not only by myself but many others to.
I do not think I can add anymore to what I have already said, I only wish I could but it is not to be. Yes they should take more notice of our MP and the councils etc and I hope they do.
And Shergar has just cantered past ridden by Lord Lucan.

There is anew date where you can put your own questions to them. On Tuesday 22nd November 2011 at the Dover Town Hall 1830 to 20.00hrs there will be Presentations on Stroke Services and the New Dover Community Hospital, and I am at this time reading about it. This is open to all members of the Trust and their Guests, I will be going along if you wish to add your name to my list please email me .
The evening also provides an opportunity to talk to members of the Council of Governors to share your thoughts and opinions about the Trusts services in a informal setting. thank you Vic Matcham. I will be posting off for my tickets at the end of next week so email me before then.

I don't know why Dover needs a Hospital it only has 14 million people passing through the town each year together with an aging population and dangerous occupations at the port etc totally unreasonable.....doh

I think therefore I am (not a Tory supporter)
