Sorry Mr Taylor, but as you can see by the rude post above I can not do this, again I am sorry about this,I go to the meetings as a member of the trust like many others to help and try to get better sevices in the NHS for our town, but some members on the forum like the one above think I do it just to get my name in lights, this not true but by just saying that they will say I am lieing.
I do not care a damm about the few on the forum that talk about me the way they do,but I note they do not tell me face to face in the street some even say " Good morning etc"
I am never rude to anyone on or off the forum even if I do not agree with with what they are saying.
"YES" I could stop posting but that is the easy wayout and that would just be what they want, well it will not work I have been on the forum years now and will not stop posting,if anything I will post more just to upset them.
I have alot on in my life at this time but in a few weeks time I will be back posting as I did.
I again am sorry to post like this ,but the time has come for me to hit back.
I will be talking to the ones I know about it face to face and you have my word on that, some I do not know even who they are,and they do not know me as a person which I find upseting.
I am going to carry on with all my council work,I like doing it and I do feel that my imput at the meetings are helping in the parishs that I am a cllr.
And I say now to the ones who do not like me,you do not know me.
I could go on and on,but will end it now before I like some of you get rude in my post.
Again to the rest who know me I am very sorry you had to read this to.
I remain yours faithfully Vic Matcham.

These members' meetings never have an 'outcome' as they are a propaganda tool of the board and executive of the trust. Purely a PR exercise.

Sorry Peter I do not agree, there was over 200members there and they are needed to keep pushing for a better NHS and it is working even if that be very slowly.

That's why I stopped going Peter. At a meeting at QEQM about ten or so years ago it was denied that wards would close at BHD. It was denied that staff were called together to discuss ward closures. Prior to the QEQM meeting the staff WERE told and after the meeting the wards DID close.
The words head, bang and brick wall come to mind.

If you give up nothing will move forward you must keep going and trying. And in the end you will see that it does work.

hopefully we will get a detailed account of what went on at the meeting from someone who attended.
with regards to outcomes, i can only go by past history and those meetings that i have attended have been a pure p.r. exercise to tick a box somewhere.
having said that there appears to be a feww positives in the meeting, unlike some i have attended where the nhs spokesman for buckland hospital stood up in the town hall telling everyone most of any new services should go to the other 3 local hospitals.
so if vic is saying there is a glimmer of hope then im always for never giving up
and pushing for the best for buckland and dover.

I have to go out now but I have more to say and will get back, but I did have 5mins before the meeting with the Chairman of the trust Mr Nicholas Wells about the Dover Hospital,I can tell you all what was said and the Questions I put to him ,I also had 5mins with Mr Murphy ,Director of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs,it is not all bad news like some would like you to think.
Before I go I can say that the East Kent Hospitals University Trust has won a very big reward for being the best run trust so that is nice to know.
The new build will go ahead but as reported one year later than planned. Also I have at hand the Full Annual Report and Accounts of the trust for 2010 /2011. But please no rude post about myself if you wish that I do not tell you then say so.

I must get to the Docs but I can say more about it when I get back, the delay of the new build is cause by the new birthing unit ,and if Dover will or will not have it,what the NHS is saying that there is not the call for have anew Birthing unit in Dover and that if one is put here that it will be under used. If Dover can do without a birthing unit it will make way for more servies to be put in its place, there is a meeting about it in Oct/of this year, untill this is worked out the NHS can not go ahead with the new build, because they can not do a layout to put to the D.D.C. Planning Dept.
But I was also told that the Delay of the new Build can not be put all at the NHS feet, Other partys are to blame aswell.
I also think that is right,I do not think anykind of Rally will help at this time,as you know I have been on most rallys over the years ,but please think again about this one,it could again hold up the new build, but that is only myway of thinking, but I would go on it if the public of Dover go ahead with it. Please no rude post about this ,there is no need for it,I will carry on later if the need be.

whilst a plan needs to come together, the Trust i feel have had time to work out a plan now over the years.
we are getting into lets consult and consult, but no firm action.
for me i would say theres a need to get on and organise a rally to keep the kettle boiling, to show the strong feeling around.
enough has been said of why buckland deserves better facilities, and dover needs a better hospital,
its now time to see some action

Vic said "Before I go I can say that the East Kent Hospitals University Trust has won a very big reward for being the best run trust so that is nice to know."
I wonder what the criteria were? I suppose it's a bit like the Oscars, the industry giving itself awards.
Keith - I did get very disillusioned a couple of years back when the two factions were at each other's throats. The infighting did not look good to the outside world. However, I will help the "cause" in whatever way I can.

on other threads i presume vic refers
as i to see no rude comments on this thread.
i presume vic refers to threads such as coach trip etc people said they wern't interested, others just asked when it was on, and gave up out of frustration after non answer, with struggling channel 4 viewing figures im sure they would have been happy to advertise or let vic asvertise coach trip and i can see no reason why they would want vic to stay quiet.

that trust award is fairly old news, i started a thread on it earlier in the year.
i suppose a rally might have an effect but i have seen many t.v. pictures of people holding placards to save their hospital or stop it being downgraded.
the result is nomally further "consultation" followed by closure.
