There will be another new venture opening in the hopefully near future in London Road near Turners, a fancy dress hire shop. You may have seen them in some of the lovely costumes in the carnival parade.
The lady who will be running it is one of our very hard working volunteers so I wish her all the best with her new enterprise.

I wish her well in her new business venture

, would that be the premises previously occupied by the Army Surplus store who moved their business to Maidstone?

Looks like she has a good landlord as well

He is going to paint the shop inside and out, I know the colour Louise is planning for the frontage but will not let on yet.

Will do Jenni but I might not see her until Tuesday, I think she would like some of the dress bags if you have any going spare.

Well her shop is looking good on the outside - nice rich purple colour
Also I see someone has started work on the old Semma4 shop since it was recently sold at auction - will need to pop my head in if I see someone and ask what they are doing with it.
Hopefully LRCF will be putting some artwork up in the shop at the top of the street (was a plumbers, then a bed shop) soon so at least that will look better too

I wasn't aware you had a bad side Ross!
Terry
ps Ross was performing his first (I think) official duty as Secretary of LRCF by attending the opening of a new shop. More on that next week.

Yes indeed, good luck to them; in fact good luck to any shop opening here, we need as many as possible.
One of the most important things for shops here is that local people have confidence in the Town and the shops here and that they "shop local".
Roger
I seem to remember there used to be a Fancy Dress shop at junction High Street and Tower Hamlets.
Hopefully this project will succeed. Good Luck to the lady.

That end of Town certainly needs brightening up and these new shops will do just that -give people more reason to visit there, so everone will benefit.
Partly the problem with Snargate Street, there's only the odd one or two tackle & bait shops and not much else: The Arlington, turning into a great little restaurant and the Masonic Hall, can't think of much else, maybe a cafe.
