The institution of the Liber Pontificalis (book of popes), corresponds more or less to the period in which the Constitutium Constantini (CC) was written in the Vatican, namely several centuries after the Emperor Constantine.
The CC was a fake, claiming the Western Roman Empire had been given by Emperor Constantine to the pope to rule as temporal king, and that the Eastern and Western Roman Empires (the Eastern Roman Empire later became the Byzantine Empire) had both been given to the Pope to rule as spiritual leader.
The CC was used by popes to meddle in kingdoms in Europe and in Britain.
The Liber Pontificalis, on which the Vatican claims the Ministry of St. Peter, I've already debunked, so won't repeat myself there.

Also of extreme historic value, Howard, to know about the Liber Pontificalis and the Constitutium Constantini:
Some English kings had problems with the popes, including Henry II and King John.
In King John's day, the pope excommunicated England....

Not at all irrelevant to history and to today, Howard.
In fact it has a very lot to do with the present day Constitution of England.

Furthermore, are we not speaking of the pope on this thread??? So what's irrelevant in what I've posted??

i thought my post was quite clear alex in that i was referring to history against what is relevant today. i have always found that trouble makers from religious groups and sects like to dig up stuff from centuries past to promote differences between people.
nothing to do with any pope.

They are things like search engines that trawl the internet to index them, which is why Google comes up with search results so quickly
They are also why websites look like they have a lot of hits, and forums have 'visitors' when they are not actually real

Howard, my posts on the pope on this thread and on the basis of why popes are elected have nothing to do with religious sects or trouble-making, and I'm quite adamant about this.

Paul, with over 10,000 pageviews, my Blog is doing quite well.
Web-spiders do not register as pageviews, and if they did, perhaps they could account for the pageviews your blog receives?

http://jensontaylor.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/blogger-stats-vs-google-analytics.html
"There are many automated computer programs that visit your blogs on regular basis(known as bots) that fetch your content in order to create an index for search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing. Google Analytics will not recognize these as valid visits whereas Blogger Stats counts each one of these as a valid visit. Aside from search engines viewing your blog there are many other automated programs that are designed for spamming and email harvesting that visit your blog. These visits are added up to your Blogger Stats, therefore inflating your "ego" visitor numbers."

Dunno, Paul.
My British Party page receives an average of 10 pageviews a day, today it got 74 views.
Perhaps it got a link in Parliament and many ministers are viewing it?
