Ha ha Peter
I have never owned or driven a car in my life, i rely solely on my own power (walking or cycling) or mass transit (mostly trains) to get pretty much where I want to get to

#20, Jan, it will be gradual. As more people buy EVs, the demand will be taken up by increased generation of power by wind, solar and tidal. The cost of solar panels and battery storage is halving every 5 years, making it possible to retro-fit clean power systems for about £12k now, reducing in the future.
Remember, there’s no planet B.
Even if scientists are wrong about climate change being man-made, there’s nothing to be lost and much to be gained by cleaning up our act.
Apparently the amount of sunlight hitting Earth in 9 minutes is enough, if converted to electricity, to power the world for a year.
