Very interesting. Will need to get a chest freezer now, for when my veg grows on the allotment.

will they taste as good though?
from what i have read in the past frozen veg has all the vitamins of fresh, however i rather like buying fresh especially if it is misshapen unlike the supermarket packaged stuff.

Save electricity by switching off the kitchen light before you open the fridge door, no point having both on at the same time.

Thanks Howard - I've used the time saved on posting to practice more, can do three chords now, look out!
Back to thread, I've had an allotment for 30 years on and off, best tasting but most expensive food you can get when you take all the costs and time into consideration.

you are being overly modest ray, i heard that the cow pats were the star of last years royal wedding party at temple ewell.
on allotments(and gardens) the pleasure is in the satisfaction of watching something grow and eventually reach the dinner table.
i used to grow a few things about 30 years ago - radishes, peas, spring onions and runner beans.
cannot be bothered with the shop equivalents since.
Me and clemmy have been watching super scrimpers on bbc one on monday nights some good ideas on there
