I agree Howard, it is definitely a way to fleece the proletariat. But I don't think that is any reason to discredit it. After all, our current administration are managing to fleece us for merely ...errr...living!
A contemporary of mine (from our secondary modern education) is a university lecturer, an expert in the formation weather systems. He has no personal agenda other than an amazing analytical mind and a doctorate to reflect. He suggests that people who discredit climate change should 'do more than look out of their windows'.
This being said, science is an interesting approach to 'truth'.

darren
your former school chum is clearly a clever trevor and would make an argument that plebs like me would not be able to counter.
there are also others of the same level of advanced education that could present a counter argument.
must be time for philip to log on and poo poo the former.

Good to see you've adopted the holding position till the cavalry arrive Howard.
For those worried that the world will end some time soon go here:

And for those who still believe what they are told about the majority of scientists falling for the climate change scam go here:

I don't know how to make these links live so you'll have to copy and paste into the url bar of your browser.

Just to be clear, I personally think there is a chance that climate change is not man made. However to also think that we have no effect on our environment is a little naive isn't it? The implications of any kind of shift are catastrophic, whatever the cause.
As for the links Phillip, already 'old news'. They even used Lotus to produce the graphs...I think I had that on my ZX Spectrum.

Lol. What were they using thirty odd years ago when this scare first started?
Ah yes mechanical calculators.

a different issue about our environment, that is something we can do something about.
recycling to cut down on landfill sites, cutting down on plastic carrier bags that get blown away and are referred to as buckland bunting when they get stuck on trees.
even trying not to throw empty polish beer cans in the dour would be an improvement.
