Pretty pointless post Vic, I represent all of Dover District & respect the cultures and needs of all communities.
If you want this Forum to Dover biased totally you will have a pretty narrow base.
Be interesting to see how you cope with issues in neighbouring parishes you now represent, particularly when they conflict with one another.

paul
that then begs the question of where loyalties lie when people are councillors in town and district or district and county.

I have just got back from the Whitfield AGM,after looking around and talking ,I have yet to fine one conflict beween any of them .most parishs have the same Agenda,s,I also have found out that the siting cllrs are all doing their best for their own parish.
And also found alot of the work running the parish is done by voluntary workers outside the parish council, good to see that aswell.it is a eye opener for myself going round and seeing the good work being done in all the parish,s.
Where will I fit into all this,? At this time I can not tell you.

Glad you've acknowledged the good work being done in the parishes by councillors and others, if you's been able to stay more than 15 minutes at the Lydden AGM you would have found the same there.
And if you don't know that you'll be able to fit in with the same commitment as other parish councillors then you shouldn't be taking on one position, let alone four or five.

I understood that all Parish Councillors are volunteers - aren't they ?
I know this may be stating the "bleedin obvious", but the point about Parish Councillors is that they are (or should be), working for their local Parish; a Town Councillor works for his Town's benefit and a District Councillor has a much wider remit and responsibility than just the ward he represents - it's across the whole District.
Vic some of your posts are becoming offensive, if you don't agree with a view, fair enough, but please open your eyes wider, don't allow your views to be so narrow.

There might be instances where the Parish Council and the District Council do not agree, such as in development schemes, as in Whitfield.
Obviously, one can expect quite some dispute to arise in such cases.

the same problem between district and town.
the issue of the public conveniences does not appear to be resolved yet.
With what the con lead coalition is doing with the country i believe they should be fighting for every vote , not taking votes for granted .

We're not going to change you into a Conservative voter, so what's the point in us putting a leaflet through your door ? - I haven't received a red leaflet either - same reason.
Vic
Some of your posts to PaulW is what I'm referring to. I know Paul can stand up for himself extremely well, but I find some of them offensive.
Mark
As PaulW has said, we are not taking any votes for granted, but talking to the residents, not just saying "vote for me".
