This appears to be the minutes where the Dover JTB supported phase 2 of the cycle greenway, with details of how the cyclists were to be routed through the subway.
Cllr Walkden sent his apologies!

" the seafront is a bit different as the cycle lanes disappear at certain points after the sea change improvements."
The Greenway River Dour is no different either/it is piecemeal, and cuts off when it meets the road. It requires the Cyclist to meet and engage with pushchairs, pedestrians. mobility scooters and youths on skateboards and rollers etc often with their ear pieces in, and oblivious to anything around them...Safe then, really? , Dog owners/Dogs and Walkers.
The paths are in the wrong place and situation/too narrow to hold all of this safely.
It just cannot work.

Ray my point is that it is only the new bridge and the trees affected by it. The other trees for felling, including the lovely mature Willow by the steps, are not included in this application.
Anything outside the replacement of the bridge is not covered in this application and thats my point. When and how do we get a say on the rest???
Not sure about the Environment Agency as they have not covered themselves in glory managing the river to date. It's been covered in the river clean up threads on the forum before.
Jan, this route will attract students and the skate park crowd. Not sure they will be as considerate as you have experienced at Morrisons.
Yes no one knows what they intend to do so the "cunning plan" should be part of a planning application so everyone, particularly those in the flood plain, knows what is proposed and can object if it puts them at even greater risk of flooding.
All I'm asking is that they let us know and we can have our say if we want to. If people don't care they won't bother.

Sorry if I offended you Christine it was just the impression I got from your posts and I did use smilies to show my post was light hearted and not serious.
Edit as I did not realise we had turned the page so to speak. I am afraid this is turning into a them and us thread so possibly time for me to stop posting on this thread.

Sums up Sustrans Jan, the cycle path that goes in the opposing way to traffic and those awful figures on the seafront compound their errors.

Those rusty looking figures are quite simply awful and I still think the Vera Lynn figure looks more like the Queen.

I agree Jan. I am not convinced by the idea of those figures being local heroes either, but that is just my opinion.
